After the applications have reached the USDA, our applicants tend to ask several questions about the status. The truth of the matter is that once the applications have reached the USDA, we can’t know the status until the winning applicants have been awarded.
What do we do in the mean time?
There are a few things you may do while waiting to hear back from the USDA.
First, verify that your application made it to your USDA contact. You can do this by calling in after you’ve sent it. Once you have confirmation, make sure to follow up with them periodically regarding status.
Energy Improvement Matters makes sure to follow up as well, if we get an update then we immediately contact you. You may begin a project without fear of disqualification after turning the application in to the USDA, but you won’t know if you won until later.
How will I Know if I Won or Lost?
You will know if you won by:
- Receiving a phone call from your USDA contact asking you to sign “obligation” paperwork.
- If we call informing you that you have won, you will then need to contact your USDA contact immediately to fill out obligation paperwork.
- Note: sometimes the USDA contacts us directly and other times they contact the applicants.
How Long Does It Take for the USDA to Announce the Winners?
This is a great question! Unfortunately, there is no exact answer to this. It can take weeks, or months. All of this depends on the number of applicants submitted, funding available, etc. EIM understand that waiting to hear where your application stands can be frustrating. We also remain vigilant while waiting to hear about your application status.
Feel Free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns!
