What is an anaerobic digester and what does it have to do with natural gas?
An anaerobic digester processes biomass such as crop wastes and animal manure to produce renewable natural gas (RNG). Essentially, you put organic material into the large tank and add enzymes which digest the materials and produce methane gas that can be captured and used in place of traditionally-sourced natural gas.
Benefits
- Process waste and reduce treatment and disposal costs
- Produce renewable natural gas for onsite use and offsite sale
- Increase energy self-sufficiency
