If your project was completed in the last 36 months, please call us at the number below. Under the new rules, energy efficiency improvement and renewable energy projects are only eligible post- completion, whereas previously you had to apply for a grant before you did the project.
Second, if you are planning a new project, be aware that this is a competitive program and there is no guarantee that you will be selected, but it is worth considering for 25% of project costs. Please be aware of the updates and ineligible projects listed below.
Key updates include:
- Reimbursements for up to 25% for completed projects (with a maximum of $250,000 grant on a $1,000,000 total project cost for Energy Efficiency projects and a maximum $500,000 grant request for Renewable Energy projects)
- To demonstrate financial stability, the applicant must provide documentation that shows the applicant has sufficient short term resources to cover its short term obligations
- Projects attached to a house or residence will require a separate meter to be eligible
Unfortunately, the following projects will no longer be eligible:
- Projects that converted cropland (for example, solar panels installed on cropland)
- Projects completed after September 30, 2026 with components made in countries that are “foreign adversaries” of the United States (China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, or Venezuela)
- Projects occurring over multiple sites (only one site can be submitted per applicant)
